Feel Loved

I bought a Doreen Virtue calendar for 2015.  The images and messages are beautiful and inspiring.  For March 2015 the message is to "Feel Loved".  What a wonderful way to live in March and of course, all of the time.  Why don't we take the 31 days of March and feel loved.  This choice could completely change our lives.  Enjoy!!!

A Process Based Life

When I was 39 years old I decided to go to University and get a degree in Visual Arts.  I really didn't know what to expect, but I was truly excited to find out about a number of artists that were grouped into an area called "Process Based Artists".  These artists would take material and allow the substance to create the work without a formal outline for each person to follow.  I'm explaining this process in a very simplistic sense, but this way of creating spoke so strongly to me.

The one aspect of this artistic expression that really transformed my life is that each artist didn't hold one way of finishing a project, but allowed the material to guide them.  Each action then becomes a present moment reaction which is different from the moment before.  The artwork then takes on a life of its own without the artist forcing her own agenda onto the creation.  I started creating sculpture with this idea in mind and found myself allowing something so unique to be born.  It was truly a transformational experience.

I then took the process one step further and started handing over my ideas in life to the present moment.  I had a feeling of what I wanted to experience, but didn't create a logical plan or picture of what the end result would look like.  My life became a constant choice in each moment, releasing any rational thought, my actions were about movement to bring my desire into manifestation.  This is how I do all my readings on Youtube, and how individual sessions come into play.  I'm always amazed by the outcome and how different it is to what I thought it would be.  I feel excited about the mystery of life.  This is not to say that I completely throw out reason or logic, but it definitely takes a back seat in my life.

One thing that I've noticed is that I've let go of judging how my life is suppose to be.  I'm constantly in the process of creating, letting go, and opening up to the endless possibilities of life.  It can be challenging when my mind wants to control the outcome, and yes, it still happens, but when I do let go life can just be without any need to mould it into any social ideals.

My whole world changed when I was introduced to process based art.  I now remember every day that each small action moves me into the mystery and magic of life.

Nap Time and the Four of Swords

I use to feel guilty about taking naps in the middle of the afternoon, but after becoming familiar with the 4 of Swords I decided to take a snooze whenever I felt inspired too.  This simple minor arcana card can have a huge impact on your creative life, but also on manifesting what you truly desire.  Let me explain.

Naps are a great way to rest,  but when you want your mind to let go a little nap can make all the difference.  The swords suit is all about the mind, so with the 4 it can bring great stability when we take time out.  So many of us try so hard to push our lives, but when we're tired and stressed out it can be difficult for the spirit of inspiration to enter our lives.  When you fall asleep your mind is at rest, but with the right intention right before you go to sleep the answer to your question can appear upon waking.

Yes, you can come up with a great idea when you nap, but I've also had money come to me soon after I've woken up.  We all know that when we're stressed about money it seems to push it away, so when we let go and rest it can only rejuvenate our spirit to being open for new energy to enter.  I also see the 4 of swords as a card of trust for when we allow our minds to rest new ideas, new energy, and new opportunities can knock on our doors.

When you have a look at the card you see someone resting peacefully, his hands are in a prayer position which shows me a level of trust.  All his thoughts (the swords) have been put away and 3 swords are hung on the wall with 1 just laying below him.  It is like you have just one idea that is ready to manifest.  The person is yellow which is the third chakra of power.  It takes just inner power to let go and just rest.

Afternoon naps are a great way to rest, but also a way to let go and allow new possibilities to enter your life.  Enjoy!!!

Change or not to Change????

I unpacked a box the other day with a few books that I had left after a big move.  The one book that stood out was Boethius "The Consolation of Philosophy.  I hadn't opened up this book in about 10 years, but suddenly felt the urge to plunge in.  The second chapter really spoke to me as it was around the concept of change.  He is talking to a female spirit who has come to him before his execution and she is sharing her wisdom about a number of different topics, but the one on change was very intriguing.

We all know that change is constant, so why do we try so hard to keep life the same?  We stay at jobs we hate, relationships that need to end, and continue with bad habits when we know it is hurting us.  We want to change, but for many people taking the first steps is the most difficult.  Life is giving us clues and hints about the direction that would be better for us, but we stay and never allow the changes to occur until a crisis happens.  We're shocked and upset and then start to blame life and everyone else for our circumstances, but still we fight it all the way.  In "The Consolation of Philosophy" Boethius is struggling with his changes in fortune, his female spirit friend is telling him that change is always happening.  It is absurd to believe any different.

Change is constant for sure, but one way to work with change is to make small changes everyday.  For instance, if you walk to work a certain way then change your route, if you eat the same food all the time then go to a different restaurant, if you talk to the same people everyday then join a group where people are totally different.  You get the idea.

Life is meant to be an adventure, but change doesn't have to be big and epic.  It really is the small steps that we take that makes life interesting, sacred, and fun.  When we look deeply within ourselves we know change is inevitable, so why don't we talk our power back and change before change has power over us.  I mean you can't control every outcome, but you can be flexible enough that when change occurs you're okay with something different and can allow the flow to happen.  You'll feel so much happier and lighter when you make change a part of your day.

Enlightenment...... The Hanged Man

The word enlightenment is one of the most talked about words in my community or at least it feels like it.  I hear it a lot and in the grander scheme of life I suppose a few have reached enlightenment, but realistically most of us feel little bits of awareness where we feel enlightened.  This is when an old habit or pattern is released and we feel lighter and renewed, but it is never the final destination.

You know that old saying "Chop wood, carry water, enlightenment and then chop wood and carry water.  Even when we have been enlightened in some part of our life, we still need to live, you know chop wood and carry water.  Perhaps after this new awareness that chopping wood and carrying water is a lot easier and not such a struggle.  I've had this feeling with housecleaning.  :)

I bring in "The Hanged Man" tarot card or for a more gender neutral card "The Hanged Person", into this post as this person has to feel some level of enlightenment to hang upside   down for a long period of time.  This tarot card has a number of different ways of looking at it.  First, it has been said to be "the dark night of the soul" card for it can force us to look at parts of ourselves that have been holding us back.  What our ego wants and want our Soul wants can sometimes be in opposition, so for people who are unconscious of what they truly desire this can be a very painful card.  We can be very frightened when we have to let go of control and allow another energy to guide us.  If you look at this card more closely the person isn't tied or restrained, but for some we don't have the tools or awareness to untie ourselves, jump down, and walk forward.

The person also have a halo around their head showing a feeling of enlightenment and awareness that there is an ebb and flow to life and if they will surrender and let go then a new idea or path will open up when the time is right.  This card only becomes painful when we fight against what is happening in the moment.  The trick when this card appears is to go and do something completely different.  For example, if you've been struggling with finding work then perhaps take some extra time to do something fun.  This energy can shift the energy and allows for new ideas to surface.

I look back and laugh at myself for how I fought to push forward.  I used to dislike this card, but now I love how it shows me to become still, do something different, and allow the energy to show me my next step.  The Hanged Person can be a card pointing to new awareness if we are willing to untie ourselves from the past and make a decision that is based in the present moment.

Eight of Swords - A symbol pointing to Freedom

I noticed in my February 2015 monthly forecasts on Youtube, that I pulled the Eight of Swords for a number of different astrological signs.  I thought perhaps collectively we're seeing where we've trapped ourselves.  The Eight of Swords could be a symbol pointing to Freedom.  Are you ready to break free?

With Mercury in retrograde for most of February, it is a good time to turn inward to see where we've limited ourselves in some area of our lives.  Are your beliefs holding you back?  This could be a question to ask ourselves.  The Eight of Swords shows us that there are invisible restrictions trapping us.  This energy is most definitely our own doing.

When you look at Eight of Swords you can see a woman tired up, blind folded, and surrounded by swords.  She has the ability to untie herself, but she is choosing unconsciously to stay trapped.  I find it interesting that the person in the card is a woman.  The female image maybe used to over emphasize the oppression used over women, which is now an invisible belief that unconsciously controls our actions.  On a deeper level, the divine feminine has been tired up in both woman and men over the centuries.  Our intuition has been second guessed due to a belief that the logical rational part of ourselves was meant to rule.  In the old patriarchal world view, the dominating factor was to follow a single way of being, so anyone who decided to break free was judged and ever killed for their belief.  The Eight of Sword is a wonderful card to see in a reading because it shows us that perhaps we need to find our own voice and untie ourselves.  Once we break free our hands are unrestricted and so the blindfold is taken off.  We once again see clearly again.  Also, if you look in the background the castle is sitting very close to the edge of a cliff, thus, showing us how the old world view is very shaky and ready to fall.

As I write this post a much more deeper understanding penetrates my inner knowing.  I feel the presence of freedom to be who I am without the need to let the outer world dictate my life.  The Eight of Swords is about changing our inner perception of ourself, so that we can release the negative thoughts and perceptions of what we thought we were capable of.  The Eight of Swords is all about our mind, so when we change the way we think this transforms the world around us.  Let this card guide you into a new way of living.

My Favourite Book

I wanted to talk about tarot, personal growth, and spirituality on this website, so I had to share my favourite book.  I don't ever remember where I bought this book, but it is my little treasure.  "The Book of Everything"  measuring only 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches, but it had such a HUGE impact on my life.

The author is Hakim Sanai and he was born 1080 about 127 years before Rumi.  Both men were Sufi Poets and wrote about the God, but I find that his writings are all about love.  Many of his poems have a presence that only the heart can feel.  When I first touched his words I felt a soft breeze flow through my whole being.  I felt present and complete.  This little book has the magic takes me away into myself.

I wanted to share one of his poems, so I'm going to open the book randomly to see what wants to be spoke.

The way to You
lies clearly in my heart
and cannot be seen or known to the mind
As my words turn to silence,
Your sweetness surrounds me.

Thank you Hakim Sanai for you sublime words.  I hope that you have enjoyed his words and the feeling this poem creates.

Blessings,
Suzanne

My Favourite Tarot Card

PAGE OF RODS

I have many tarot cards that I love like the Magician, Ace of Pentacles, 6 of Pentacles, and funny enough, the Death card, but the one that really stands out for me is the Page of Rods.

This card sometimes goes unnoticed, but whenever I pick this card I get a feeling of enthusiasm and excitement, along with a positive outlook and ability to see new ideas.  I always feel full of energy like I can do anything.

When you look at this card the child is shouting out to the world in a happy and positive way.  He holds one single rod in his right hand showing that he has the drive and power to move forward.  The sun hanging around his neck is a wonderful symbol of strength, joy, and new beginnings.  You could also look to the Sun tarot card for a fuller understanding of childlike fun and play.  The Page is a symbol of youth, so it could be about children, but I like to see it as the kid inside of all of us that has this amazing way of feeling excited about new ideas.

The colour in the card is red, orange, yellow adding to a feeling of inner creativity and passion.  You could also see the base chakra, 2nd chakra, and the 3rd chakra being associated with these 3 colours that are in full bloom where we feel grounded, creative, and powerful in who we are.  Rods represents the element of fire too.

When you pull this card in a reading expect a fun filled feeling that is full of childlike wonder with an enthusiastic approach to a positive way of living!!!
